The Hawaii Children’s Discovery Center is an educational facility that has been created to teach children of all ages about the world around them, with sensory learning being their main focus. There’s lots of interactive displays where kids can get hands on and learn through play. Kids will gain an understanding of Hawaii’s multicultural society and have fun with the cultural dress-ups. Exhibits include a simulated airplane, bank, fire station, grocery store, TV broadcasting studio and shipping port.
Positioned right beside the Kaka’ako Waterfront Park, it takes just 10 minutes by car from Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra, or you can catch the bus from Ala Moana Shopping Center which stops near the Hawaii Children's Discovery Center. When driving from your Honolulu accommodation, head South along Ala Moana Blvd and turn onto Cooke Street. There’s free car parking at the premises and just a small admission fee to enter.
Once you’ve finished enjoying all that the Hawaii Children’s Discovery Center has to offer, you might like to buy a coffee from the cafe at the center and walk across to the Kakaʻako Waterfront Park. Make the most of the beautiful scenery by taking a stroll along the waterfront, or bring along a family picnic to enjoy on the spacious grass area which overlooks the ocean.
